Oh It’s Big Bang Theory! It’s Big Bang, It’s Big Bang!

(The title of my post was inspired by a line said by a female character named Amy Farrah Fowler when her “boyfriend” Sheldon Cooper gives her a tiara to apologize for being rude to her. The original line was, “Oh its a tiara! It’s a tiara! It’s a tiara!”)

Known for its quartet of nerdy, but socially inept protagonists, The Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite shows filled with numerous priceless scenes that make me laugh. The show is centered around four friends with high IQs named Sheldon, Howard, Leonard, and Raj as try to navigate their way through their teaching jobs at a local college, while picking up some street smarts from Sheldon and Leonard’s pretty neighbor Penny. Over 22 million viewers are fans of the show and the cast is already at work for Season 6.

Some of my favorite scenes involve Sheldon Cooper, a highly intelligent, yet over-confident professor who lacks proper social skills to communicate with others on a conversational level. Here are some of my favorite scenes on YouTube videos.

Favorite scenes in this compilation are Sheldon Riding Home with Howard and Leonard Trying to Catch Sheldon in a Kiddie Ball Pool.

Do you have a favorite show with a priceless moment?

No one thought that it was unsafe to go to the movie theaters, especially during summer. My heart goes out to those affected in the Aurora shooting.

First Dibs for Dealers

Posted on

It’s not uncommon when events like San Diego Comic Con draw many people who obtain exclusives, freebies, and what not that end up on eBay for reasonable to insane prices to make quick money for unlucky others who were unable to make it into Comic Con. Yet there’s been some questioning of dealers from small businesses buying every exclusive item they can get their hands on to resell at a higher price for profit.

Companies like Mattel don’t see this as a problem since they aren’t losing money any ways. However, people like my mom questioned the practice since genuine customers who want these items for their collections or for their kids tend to miss out on them, thanks to dealers. The one that bothers me the most is a seller in the article who bought tons of Monster High exclusive dolls and pre-sold them via eBay auctions before he ever got his hands on them. There was no guarantee that he was going to get any and I can’t help but think of the little girls who adore the series for its quirky set of characters and webisodes on YouTube.

What do you guys think? Should companies like Mattel crack down on dealers who are only buying for their own businesses or should they keep things as is?

A Pirate and Some Tributes

Comic Con 2012 on Thursday, July 12. I ran into Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh), Jack Quaid (Marvel), and Amandla Stenberg (Rue) from The Hunger Games while walking the exhibit hall. We chatted about my jacket and the series its connected to before we took pictures. I had a great time talking to Jack and Dayo. (more…)

Now I Have Vocal Envy…

Amazon has this song available as a free download this month which is how I was introduced to Kate Miller-Heidke. Normally I’m not a fan of high pitched, breathy voices but there’s something about her song lyrics and tone that remind me of walking around Rome, Italy on my last day in January 2011. (If anyone was interested, it was a day of tea at a nice cafe, buying a canolo (singular of cannoli) to try and report back on for my mom, and sadly witnessing a terrible accident by the public “trolley”. The last event certainly brought me back to the fact that life accelerates and rarely slows down.)

Looking for more free music? Amazon has several artists that are up and coming for those more familiar with mainstream artists like Jay–Z and Lady Gaga with songs available to download for free every month.
