Diane Disney Miller passed away today at age 79. She was a driving force in the Disney company name after her father’s passing, especially with The Walt Disney Concert Hall and The Walt Disney Family Museum.
I remember a friend of mine attended the 50th anniversary and she made a wonderful speech about her father and the legacy he left with the company and the original Disneyland park which started out as a mere dream, a folly to most people. Who knew that it would evolve into the location dubbed “The Happiest Place on Earth”?
While I never met Diane or ever came in close contact with her, I admire her love for her father and the bond she shared with him. Even after he left this world, she always seemed to be happy and gracious to help the company with the various projects. She protected him and in a way, it seemed like she continued to view her dad as a hero, like she most likely did as a young girl.
