The Telegraph reported that the US is in talks with North Korea to opening child adoption for US parents/soon-to-be parents. Even though I was born in South Korea and adopted by my family as a baby, I find this exciting news for North Korea. I always wondered what happened to orphaned children in North Korea when I was younger and because I knew that the government was oppressive, I often feared the worst for them. I have a friend who knows a young man who escaped with his family to the US from North Korea and she talked about how dangerous it was for his family to leave and arrive in the US safely.
Is this the beginning of an eventual shift in North Korea?
